ZOO DESIGN INC
Animal-centric, conservation-minded zoo design company

Seattle, WA
objective.
Zoo Design Inc was asked by the World Associated on Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) to design 1.) An info graphic linking visitor experience with elephant care, welfare, and wellness. 2.) The cover of their conservation magazine, volume 17.
solution.
The provided text was presented as two cards with corresponding rows distinguished with alternating transparent strips for easy reading. The customized background image of a boy pointing to an elephant emphasizes the interaction between visitors and animals while keeping the columns separate. For magazine cover, a real image was altered to simplify the details and draw attention to the interaction between zoo visitors and the animals.

objective.
The client was in need of marketing collateral to get the word out about his services. He was sure that he wanted a retro look and feel, beyond that, the client was open to ideas.
solution.
After discussion with the client, it became clear that a level is symbolic in his work: level-headedness, level-best, and of course, the use of a level as a tool. This became the overall theme of his brand and from this, the logo, brochure and business cards were developed. The lime green color of typical level liquid worked with the retro theme and was further complimented by yellow, orange and brown/wood. Along with the level, the square is a secondary theme due to the right angle's essential nature in building.
