objective.
Zoo Design Inc was asked by the World Associated on Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) to design 1.) An info graphic linking visitor experience with elephant care, welfare, and wellness. 2.) The cover of their conservation magazine, volume 17.
solution.
The provided text was presented as two cards with corresponding rows distinguished with alternating transparent strips for easy reading. The customized background image of a boy pointing to an elephant emphasizes the interaction between visitors and animals while keeping the columns separate. For magazine cover, a real image was altered to simplify the details and draw attention to the interaction between zoo visitors and the animals.

PHOTOREALISTIC EXHIBIT RENDERINGS

objective.
Zoo Design Inc was hired to transform an existing wolf exhibit at the Dublin Zoo, Ireland. Two vviewing shelters were to be completely renovated to offer two different viewing experiences: a nature experience where the shelter shares the natural elements of the wolf habitat (north shelter), and a structured cabin experience where the shelter provides a cozy, educational setting (south shelter).
solution.
Using photoshop, real images were edited and transposed into landscape topography and in accordance with shelter plans. To uphold the natural experience of the north shelter, openings between deadfall trees create the shelter entrance into a cave-like interior. A large rock extends under the viewing glass allowing visitors to touch and feel the same rock the wolves rest upon. Other features include rock seating and floor to ceiling window views into the habitat. The south shelter embraces the cabin experience with cozy wood paneling, hanging fireplace, real wolf skeleton and supporting educational signage.
