objective.
Zoo Design Inc was asked by the World Associated on Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) to design 1.) An info graphic linking visitor experience with elephant care, welfare, and wellness. 2.) The cover of their conservation magazine, volume 17.
solution.
The provided text was presented as two cards with corresponding rows distinguished with alternating transparent strips for easy reading. The customized background image of a boy pointing to an elephant emphasizes the interaction between visitors and animals while keeping the columns separate. For magazine cover, a real image was altered to simplify the details and draw attention to the interaction between zoo visitors and the animals.

LOGO AND WEBSITE FOR WELLNESS
WAIV RETREATS
Health and Wellness Retreats focused on teaching alternative modalities for self-healing.
Leesburg, Virginia
objective.
LOGO: The founders of a new health and wellness retreat program wanted a logo that embodied the movement of energy waves. They had a specified color scheme in mind. The founders wanted the name encased in a wave. They came with a specific example of the overall feel to achieve.
WEBSITE: They wanted a 1-page site that displayed all information in one, singular page. The colors were to match the logo. The design was meant to represent a clean, healthy space.
solution.
LOGO: I identified an infinity symbol as a comprehensive theme that embraces timeless vitality. I activated the color scheme through scattered, flowing energy waves streaking across the infinity shape with tails fading out toward the center. The wave lines flow with the text, but scatter enough to give the sense of layers and movement.
WEBSITE: To create the feel of a clean and healthy space for the website, I used a clean warm blue, crisp green and calming violet. The layout was broken up into rectangular blocks that fit together perfectly. The even spacing between each block creates the sense of order without being overly rigid. The colored blocks are separated by white blocks of text. This gives the sense of openness and room to breathe. The muted images depict health, exercise and inner peace -- the core aspects for WAIV Retreats. The founders are presented side-by-side to display their equal partnership in creating each retreat they offer.
